Building officials require reports and drawings that
verify the accuracy of building space areas in a building plan. The Area
Validation Report is available to meet that need.
Used to validate space
areas for single and multiple spaces that are identified individually, or with
a fence, or as a selection set, or by active DGN file. The space reports and
drawings generated from this utility can be used to verify the accuracy of
building space areas in the building plan.

Sets Bentley (DGN) file name for the area
validation report.

Select Output DGN File dialog where area validation DGN files are selected, and
where directory save locations for area validation DGN files are navigated to
and established.

Sets the Microsoft Excel (XLS) file name for the
area validation report.

Select Output XLS File dialog where area validation XLS reports are selected,
and where directory save locations for area validation XLS report files are
navigated to and established.

Sets the method by which space areas are selected
and processed for validation.
- Selection Set — All
space areas in the active selection set are processed for the validation
report. A selection set must be identified prior to selecting the Validate Area
tool.
- Fence — All space
areas in the active fence are processed for the validation report. A fence must
be in place prior to selecting the Validate Area tool.
- Design File (DGN
file) — All space areas in the open DGN file are processed for the validation
report.

A progress bar opens as spaces are processed. The
area validation report is saved to the specified directory, an Area Validation
model is created, and the dialog is dismissed.
